Surgery & Dental Services for Dogs & Cats
Evergreen Veterinary Hospital approaches surgery and dentistry with careful anesthetic planning, clear communication, and a focus on each pet’s safety and pain control. We take an individualized approach by evaluating each pet’s specific needs, explaining options, and partnering with owners so that they can make informed decisions for their pet.
Our goal is not just to perform procedures safely, but to guide you through the process with clarity and confidence.
Surgery
We offer a range of surgical services designed to address common medical needs while prioritizing safety and comfort.
Our surgical services for dogs and cats include:
- Spay and neuter
- Mass removals
- Advanced soft tissue surgery involving abdominal procedures
- Select orthopedic procedures in collaboration with a board-certified surgeon
If your pet needs more complicated surgery, we assist referrals and can remain involved in your pet’s care before and after the procedure.
Dental Care for Lifelong Health
Dental health is an essential part of your pet’s overall well-being. Dental disease affects not only the mouth – it can affect distant organs.
Our dental services focus on prevention, treatment, and long-term health.
Dental care includes:
- Comprehensive oral exams
- Full mouth dental cleanings
- Tooth extractions when needed
- Dental radiography
- At-home dental care recommendations
Dental radiographs are standard at Evergreen, placing us among a smaller group of practices offering this level of diagnostic care. This means hidden issues like bone loss or fractures can be addressed, relieving discomfort pets might not even show.
Safety Before, During, and After Surgery
Your pet’s safety is our top priority.
Surgical care at Evergreen includes:
- Pre-surgical evaluation and diagnostics when appropriate
- Careful anesthesia monitoring
- Pain management before, during, and after procedures
We’ll walk you through what to expect at every stage—so there are no surprises.
When Referral or Specialty Care Is Needed
While we offer many surgical and dental services in-house, some cases benefit from advanced specialty care.
When referral is recommended:
- We explain why and what it means for your pet
- We help guide you to trusted specialty partners
- We remain part of your pet’s care team whenever appropriate
What to Expect on Procedure Day
Prior to your pet’s procedure, detailed instructions will be provided outlining preparation for the night before and morning of, including fasting guidelines and medication recommendations.
On the day of the procedure, patients are admitted for check-in, where the treatment plan, estimate, and any questions will be reviewed with our team. Most procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, with discharge anticipated later the same day.
Following the procedure, you will receive both verbal and written discharge instructions tailored to your pet’s specific care. These may include guidance on activity restriction, incision or dental care, feeding recommendations, and any necessary follow-ups.
If you have any more questions of how to prepare and what to expect, our team is happy to walk you through these details!

We Don’t Just Clean Teeth. We See the Whole Picture.
Dental radiographs are standard at Evergreen Veterinary Hospital, which puts us in a small percentage of veterinary practices that offer this level of diagnostic care. That means hidden fractures, bone loss, and infection don’t go undetected. It means fewer surprises. And it means your pet goes home healthier, not just cleaner.
